Do you sell products with unique serial numbers? Are you tired of tracking individual products in spreadsheet files or using inefficient workarounds such as order notes or tags? Would you like your sold items to be easily searchable? The "Serializer - Product Tracking" app is for you!

Features

  1. Automatically generate and attach unique item IDs to sold products. The feature may be helpful for products that do not have serial numbers provided by the manufacturers or suppliers, e.g. digital or hand-made products.
  2. Add serial numbers to sold products by scanning barcodes with a barcode scanner (must be in HID mode) or your mobile device's camera, pasting multiple numbers from external software (e.g. spreadsheet file) or typing them.
  3. Quickly search your sold items and pull up their order, customer and warranty information.
  4. Access your sold item information via the order metafields. Embed serial numbers and warranty information into the post-sale notifications (e.g. shipping emails) and your website. Some custom development is required.
  5. Access sold item information on your website via the app's API secured by Shopify's app proxy. The feature may be helpful if you wish to implement a customised experience for your customers, e.g. received product verification. Some custom development is required.

Potential features under consideration (not available yet)

  1. Items' import.
  2. Items' export.
  3. Draft order serialization.
  4. Manual items' check-in and check-out. This would allow serializing items in inventory first (check-in) and then assigning them to the order when sold (check-out). Currently, only sold items can be serialized.
  5. Automatically assign checked-in items to products sold online.
  6. Self check-out POS.
  7. Save items from outside the app. The feature would allow external apps or sales channels to save items and add capabilities missing in this app. Additionally, it would provide a capability for the customers to register their received items on the merchant's website.
  8. Additional searchable fields. For example, supplier SKU could help track products on consignment.
  9. Return order items in the app. This would prevent the "More tracked than total items" warning.
  10. Detailed item history. It could show more detailed information about the individual items and their status changes.
